Review by hotel critic
My recent experience at Lytton Crescent B&B highlighted a striking dichotomy between luxury and value. Upon arrival, we faced significant parking challenges; despite the B&B offering ten rooms, there was space for only two vehicles, creating potential inconvenience. I was disappointed with the room standard; the main entrance boasted a newer room that appeared to be featured in promotional materials, in stark contrast to the others we viewed. A notable aspect of the property is its shared kitchen, which allows for a communal cooking experience. I had no opportunity to utilize this, as my breakfast expectations were not met; instead of the requested brown bread, I was served white bread, which I cannot consume. Although the free Wi-Fi and laundry facilities might appeal to those prioritizing convenience, the lack of functional amenities, such as a reliable gate remote and soundproofed rooms, detracted from my overall impression. In summary, the B&B presents itself as a budget-friendly option, yet the inconsistency in room quality and service call into question its value proposition seeking luxury experiences in a peaceful retreat.
